We hope all our juniors are keeping well and busying themselves during this lockdown period.  Firstly, a very big thank you to all those juniors in Bristol who played in the previous Inter-County tournament as well all those parents and adults who helped rally a team together with such late notice.  Although Bristol Juniors had one of the smallest team in the tournament, with only 18 players compared to some counties with close to 50, we did amazingly well.  After a slow scoring start, purely due a smaller team, our juniors romped to the finish in 2nd place, only 15 points behind the eventual winners.  A remarkable effort with all players contributing and scoring vital points. Well done to all the players!  I hope you all had fun.

The prize for our performance, is we have now been promoted to Division 1 and our next tournament is this coming Monday 15th June at 6pm.

Those who have played before, please do join in again, Bristol needs you. 😀👍   For those juniors who wishes to take part, please contact Michael Meadows of Downend Chess Club who is helping organise the team.  All juniors from Bristol and surrounding (Gloucestershire, Bath, Somerset) areas can join in, the only requirement is that you know how to play chess and the rules of chess.  Mike can provide details on what you need to do and how to join.

See you all Monday…Come on Bristol Juniors!!!
