Possibly the last chess event of the millennium will be held on 28th December at 7.30 pm. This is the club's famous buzzer tournament, played at the rate of ten seconds per move. The unusual feature of this tournament is that the players themselves bring the prizes - usually unwanted Christmas gifts, bottles of wine, etc. There is a buffet half way through the evening.
