The 7th League Rapidplay saw a solid performance by Simon Buckley to win the
Open outright. Charles Cobb dented his chances when he lost to Simon's brother, David, in
the second round. David must have been exhausted
by the effort, for he then lost all his games for the next
three rounds.
Tyson Mordue took up the running but lost to Derek Pugh in the penultimate round. Simon Buckley then beat Derek in the final round.
Roger Hardy won the Under-150 in style. The Under-100 was a close contest, with Graham Strickland racing to 4/4 and then losing the last two, to be overtaken by James Woodruff.
