DOWNEND SUMMER QUICKPLAY 2007

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT

 Downend & Fishponds Chess Club

Downend Cricket Club, W.G.Grace Memorial Ground, Downend Road, Bristol

 Bristol Grand Prix x2 multiple ( 36 Grand Prix Points available )

 The Tournament will take place through the Summer on 4 separate Tuesday evenings

 8^th May     5^th June     3^rd July     31^st July

 Players will have 15 minutes to complete all moves, blitz rules apply

 Each match will consist of 2 games   White/Black

 Each player will play 3 matches (6 games) on each evening of competition

 Swiss pairings on the first and subsequent evenings will be effected using running total scores

 Each player’s best 3 evening’s scores will be totalled as the final score

 12 Grand Prix points (6 games x 2) will be available on each evening

= 36 GP points overall (12 x best 3 evenings)

 Players may compete on 1, 2, 3 or all 4 evenings

 Entry Fee £2.00 each evening     Juniors - £1.00

 CASH PRIZES to be awarded on tournament placings (not separate evenings) after Grand Prix fee is cleared

(with attendance similar to 2006, the Prize Fund should total approximately £144.00)

 A one point bye will be awarded to Juniors who must miss an evening’s final match

 Odd number byes will be awarded 1 point + 1 game against the round’s first suitable loser

where both may improve their scores

 No need to enter just turn up, pay up and play
