Sadly I have to report that Clive Parker a former Little Thatch and South Bristol player has recently died. Clive was an active player back in the 80s & 90s with a grade of around 150.  He had a colourful personality and an attacking style of chess that often unnerved strong opponents that he faced. Condolences go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. 

The following game from 1991 demonstrates Clive's style of play, having equalised as Black and gained control of the c file, Clive gives up his queen which must have come as a shock to his opponent.  The outcome of the game was never in doubt !
