A few experienced players are exploring the possibility of setting up a new chess club based in Winterbourne but covering the surrounding villages and potentially Stoke Gifford. The idea is still in its early stages and venues are currently being sounded out in the village.

 

The idea is to encourage new players to join a club and increase the number of players regularly playing chess in the area. New players are especially welcome and it is planned that free tuition will be available on club night for anyone regardless of ability.

 

If enough interested players wish to play competitive chess then we may seek entry into Division 4 but players who just want non-league chess are equally welcome.
