MILLFIELD CHESS TOURNAMENT 2011

Venue: Fencing Salle, Millfield Senior School, Street, BA16 0YD

Date: Sunday 27th November 2011

Time: 9.15am - 5.00pm

Entry Fee £7.50 Cheques payable to SPSCA

This event is a qualification tournament for the London Junior championships. The required scores are,

U8 - 4 out of 6 or more

U10 - 4.5 out of 6 or more (Major Championships) 3.5 or 4 out of 6 (Minor Championships)

U12 - 4.5 out of 6 or more (Major Championships) 3.5 or 4 out of 6 (Minor Championships)

Tournament This will be a ‘Swiss Tournament’. All players play in all the rounds, no one gets knocked out. Players of all abilities are welcome; The event is intended to be a good introduction to competitive chess. Clocks will be used on the higher boards with a time control of all moves in 35 minutes.

A half point bye for round 1 can be arranged in advance.

Age Groups Ages are taken at 31.08.11. The tournament will be run in sections of U18, U14, U12, U10 and U8. Prizes will also be awarded for the best score by an U16, U13, U11 and U9.

Lunch Please bring a packed lunch, snack and drinks will be available throughout the day.
